Ring made of yellow gold (750 parts per thousand) and platin - Lot 15
Ring made of yellow gold (750 parts per thousand) and platinum (850 parts per thousand), set with an old-cut diamond weighing approximately 0.40 carats. Eagle-head hallmark. Art Nouveau style. The band is decorated with mistletoe and balls. Trace of soldering toward the bottom of the band. The diamond has scratches, chips, and small chips along the girdle. Width: 8.5/5 mm. TDD: 57. Weight: 9.8 g Art Nouveau drew inspiration from various elements of flora and fauna: holly, lotus, iris, as well as mistletoe—with its intertwined leaves and berries—were used by great jewelers such as Lalique, Georges Fouquet, and the House of Vever. The mistletoe motif adorned the clasps of gold pouches, as well as hair ornaments such as combs and tiaras made of tortoiseshell, gold, and enamel. Appraisal: Maryse Beraudias, expert appointed by the Riom Court of Appeals
