Oil on canvas. 108 x 185.5 cm This depicts the fighting at Confrécourt farm, with the French of the 216° infantry regiment defending the walled garden against the onslaught of the Germans of the I.R.27 I.R.71. This authentication was confirmed by Hervé Vatel, President of the 14-18 Association, based on the historical accounts of the German regiments.
