                        British dragon officer's sword. Chased and gilded brass mounting.
Faceted urn-shaped pommel, flat joint bow and slightly bent quillon decorated with stylized foliage. Double pontat top (the folding counter top is missing). Hollow-point straight blade by "JF RúNKEN SOLINGEN". One-third engraved with King George the Third's cypher under crown, trophies and arms of England with motto, remains of gilding (oxidation). Leather scabbard with three brass fittings. The chape is marked PROSSER Charing Crofs (Cross) on the reverse. Accident to the leather, dried or attached. Total length: 98cm. England, 1815 period.
