US- M-1917 helmet shell of the 102nd Infantry Regiment of the 26th American Division, in steel covered with anti-reflective paint with insignia painted on the front. Four holes drilled around the perimeter of the helmet. The 102nd Regiment was deployed in March 1918 in the Chemin des Dames sector. In July, it fought around Château-Thierry, before taking part in the Second Battle of the Marne.
