Large oblong silver-plated service bell and sleeper, the bell engraved with a leopard crest of the Beswicke-Royds family, with the motto in a phylactery "Semper paratus" (Always ready); the grip with rocaille motif, and the body encircled with fillets, acanthus leaves and shells. The frame is decorated with fillets, and marked E.P.N.S. on the reverse (Dim.: 23 x 31 x 39.5 cm).
