Richard DESVALLIERES (1893-1962). Hanging ironwork (H.: 162 cm) Provenance: private collection, by descent Richard Desvallières was the son of painter George Desvallières. An ironworker and journeyman blacksmith, his sacred and secular works adorn numerous private mansions, churches and public monuments, particularly in the Aube, Aisne and Seine-et-Marne regions. A monographic exhibition ("Richard Desvallières: Dialogue du fer avec le feu" was dedicated to him from October 5, 2016 to April 30, 2017 at the Maison de l'Outil et de la Pensée Ouvrière in Troyes.
