Maurice ROLLET de l'ISLE (1859-1943) "Scenes of wartime Paris". Set of 8 drawings, various techniques: pen, Indian ink and colored pencil. All located and captioned, some on administrative sheets from the Ministry of the Navy. Including: - "American hospital on the racecourse at Auteuil", - "Sidcar US" and "Cricket at the Tuileries", - "A 520 shell at the Ministry of Munitions (Champs-Elysées)" and "American Soldiers". - "Effusion ..." - "November 11, 1918..." - "Police interalliée" and "Laveuse du Louvre". - "The American and the wounded", "Acclimatization", and "?" - "Port fluvial belge" annotated "Bateau de promenade des soldats alliés, "Ponton pour l'emprunt" and "Sous-marin montgolfier". (Dim.: 22.8 x 34 cm) (a few edge tears) Numerous works by Maurice Rollet, Hydrographic Engineer, were at the Service hydrographique et océanographique de la Marine in Brest, before being deposited at the Service Historique de la Défense in Vincennes.
