An XI model infantry saber lighter, Versailles. One-piece bronze mounting. Single hilt, drop-shaped quillon and fluted spindle. Jointed bow stamped "VERSAILLES". Curved, flat V-shaped blade, remnants of manufacturing hallmarks, heavy oxidation. No scabbard. France, regulation production, First quarter of the 19th century.
