JAPAN, late 19th century Four issues of twelve or thirteen prints each, from a suite of fifteen collections, entitled Miyo no Hana, "Flowers of the Empire", edited by Yamada Kôtarô, created by Nakamura Busuke after paintings by various artists, including Imao Keinen, Takeuchi Seiho, Kikuchi Hobun, Taniguchi Kokyo, Kamisaka Sekka, Kubota Beisen and others. Publisher: Fujii Magobei, in 1892 (Meiji 25) Dim. 24 cx 31.5 cm Provenance: brought back from Japan by Intendant-General Chayrou de Lacombe in the early 20th century, and by descent.
