CHINA, 18th-19th century Polychrome lacquered cast-iron subject, representing a warrior god, probably Zhonggui, the demon hunter, standing on a base, holding his halberd, with beard and moustache set in horsehair. (Accents and wear) Total height: 54 cm - Figure height: 30 cm Provenance: brought back from China by Intendant-General Chayrou de Lacombe in the early 20th century, and by descent. Appraisal: Cabinet Ansas, Papillon de Léry, Paris.
