US- M-1917 American helmet assigned to Battery C of the 151st Field Artillery Regiment of the 42nd American Division. Steel shell with olive green anti-reflective paint and white C insignia within a red disk painted on one side. Black waxed canvas inner shell. Chinstrap missing. The 42nd division took part in the reduction of the St Mihiel salient, the Second Battle of the Marne and the Meuse-Argonne offensive.
