Marine infantry officer's saber. Brass mounting. Long-tailed cap with laurel wreath. Joint bow with a "false" branch at the top of the openwork shell decorated with a naval anchor on a pennant background. Horn spindle (watermark missing). Curved blade with gutter and throat. Officer-style 1845 leather scabbard with two brass fittings.
