L. MARCHAND and G. DELESALLE, bronze founders, 10 rue des archives, Paris. Gilt bronze wall-mounted cartel in the form of a lyre, the signed white enamelled dial showing hours and minutes in Arabic numerals, encircled by two uprights surmounted by gadrooned urns. The base is adorned with acanthus leaves, from which roosters spring on either side of the dial. The top is decorated with a woman's head with curly hair haloed by a radiating motif. Napoleon III period, Louis XVI style (H.: 71 cm)
