Gilt bronze vase clock with two chased scrolled handles decorated with owl heads at the top and an Indian head on the console, the neck adorned with a frieze of loves in various activities. The enameled dial with Roman numerals and Breguet-type hands is surrounded by a finely guilloché frieze and applique renomées. The pedestal, finely chased with laurel leaves, rests on a square base with applied decoration of a love in a rectangular cartouche embellished with stylized palmettes. Empire period (H.: 42.5 cm) (small chip in the winding hole of the dial).
Handwritten inscription "Mme Baronne Mariani" on a movement support, referring to Louise Claire Dard d'Espinay, wife of Baron Antoine Dominique Mariani, a relative of Emperor Napoleon I through the Arrighi de Casanova family).
