WEDGWOOD. Truncated cone-shaped vase in plain jasperware, tinted blue (Portland blue), decorated with a frieze of roses, various fruits and flowers, mythological scenes such as the goddess Hera (Juno) with the peacock, her attribute, Eros (Cupid) and a putto, and the veiled goddess Demeter (Ceres) carrying a cornucopia; a tree separates them from a peace offering with Cupid at the bow, two young women, one grieving with a sheep, the second holding the hand of a child. The base is adorned with vine branches. Hollow mark on reverse "Wedgwood" and "England". Between 1891 and 1930 (H.: 17.5 cm - Diam. (at neck): 15.5 cm)
