WEDGWOOD. Jasperware pitcher, plain and tinted blue (Portland blue), with rotating white cookie decoration of a mythological scene including Demeter (Ceres) and Hera (Juno), and a grieving woman accompanied by a sheep, consoled by another holding the hand of a child. Mascaron of fauns at the end of the handle. Engraved mark on reverse "Wedgwood" and letter-date Q for 1862. James Dixon Sons - Sheffield, in silver-plated metal with shell decoration on the lid (H.: 24 cm) (some firing cracks in the decoration, and broken nose of the faun).
