Zouaves sub-lieutenant's polo kepi in black and madder wool cloth with single soutache and Hungarian knot, gilded false chinstrap held in place with two brass half-spherical buttons without imprint, green canvas interior, leather sweatband, embossed visor underside. Képi certainly of the 10th Territorial Battalion of Zouaves, with regard to the black waxed canvas képi cover surmounted by the stenciled number 10. Set in average condition, lacking the peripheral soutache on the cap.
