Louis SÜE (1875 - 1968) and André MARE (1885-1932). Pair of "panier fleuri" chairs in carved wood, the openwork back decorated with simulated basketwork, surmounted by a flowery basket, ending in scrolls and tassels of passementerie, the front legs partly fluted and the back legs sabres. Circa 1910-1920. Later floral trim (H.: 92 cm - H. (seat): 48 cm). This model, made by Damon et Berteaux, was presented at the Salon d'Automne in 1912. A similar model is in the Metropolitan Museum in New York and the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris. Bibliography: Florence CAMARD "Süe et Mare", 1996, p.64-65.
