A fine torch in chased and gilded bronze, the urn-shaped socket with tripod base surmounted by lion's heads terminating in claws, the shaft in the form of three female figures in term or caryatids adorned with garlands of flowers, resting on a circular base adorned with a wreath of laurel leaves, the umbilicus decorated with falling acanthus leaves and the base encircled by a frieze of pearls. Based on a design by François Rémond, inspired by a drawing by Jean-Démosthène Dugourc. Late Louis XVI period (H.: 33 cm)
