René COURSON (1940-2012). Set of five blown glass fruits tre - Lot 180
René COURSON (1940-2012). Set of five blown glass fruits treated au naturel, including a strawberry, a yellow lemon, a pear, an orange and a green apple. (H. (pear): 14.5 cm) Glassmaker René Courson began his career at the Blérancourt crystal glassworks. When this closed, he joined the glassworks at Nouvion-en-Thiérache, then Sauvigny, before moving to Belgium to work at the Boussu glassworks. He ended his career in the Creuse region, at Cristallerie Pierre de Lune in Gouzon. Following the custom of artisan glassmakers, René Courson produced many bousillages, original pieces made during breaks to be given as gifts or to pay off the artisan's debts.
